In Britain, orphan Griffin has learned to cope with her terrible conditions. But as their journey progresses, many secrets are revealed and the intent of this mission may not be what it seemed. As the excursion becomes more and more arduous, Griffin becomes entangled in family secrets, loyalty, romance, danger, and betrayal as she discovers she plays a far more important role in this world than she could have possibly imagined.
