When a homeless drug addict is shot trying to confess something to Eric Thorne, nobody else seems to care very much. Eric starts to make his own inquiries and ends up mixing with underworld kingpins, federal agents, occultists, and several levels of human depravity. The trail leads through abandoned buildings, posh penthouses, street-level crime and high-level cover-ups. With an undercover narc, a beat cop, and a local pastor as his only allies, Eric digs into "Pegleg's" last days and uncovers a frighteningly familiar killer.
