About This Book
When Lexie Lane, the busy single mom of three young boys and her best friend Sue, discover the death by suicide of their friend Pamela, they immediately think that something ‘just isn’t right’. Pamela, the dutiful wife of very wealthy businessman Jeff Weston and devoted mother to 16 year old Amy and 11 year old Tony, had everything to live for. She had a handsome husband; two nice kids, a fabulous estate home and was well respected in the Marin County community where they all live. She was the Middle School PTA President, Soccer Team Mom and served on the Church Altar Guild. Furthermore, she was beautiful. Morning, noon or midnight, you could always find her dressed and groomed as though she had stepped right out of the pages of Vogue Magazine. Everything about her was just â€" well perfect. Perfect hair, perfect teeth, perfect figure, perfect house, and damn it, she was nice, too! Why would anyone like that want to kill herself?
Lexie and Sue vow to find out what really happened, but have to fit it in between the frustrations of driving carpools, going on field trips, and seeing to the care of Lexie’s cranky aging mother. The inseparable friends find out that Pamela’s perfect life seemed to have more than just a few cracks. They discover a greedy ex-husband and an affair with the ‘boy toy’ gardener hidden in her past, and that the ‘perfect’ husband had just told her that he was leaving for another woman.
In the meantime, Lexie's already chaotic life is further complicated by the fact that she can’t live with her almost ex-husband, but can’t seem to live without him either. Lately though, she’s started to have feelings for her childhood friend, Police Detective Tom Bryant too, who just happens to be there whenever she stumbles into trouble. Lexie wonders if it's really possible to be in love with two men at the same time? Probably not, but it sure is tempting, though…
