Novum Aevum: The New Age

In 20XX, a war broke out within the shadows of modern society, where a world of magic and mystical creatures existed. The magic using magi broke into two major factions—The Translaticius faction, who followed the traditional path of magic, and the Averius faction, who crossed magic with technology to create a new system, leading to an unknown path. What started as a difference of belief spiraled into a war that held no mercy or compassion.

Having served for only one campaign, it broke a man to his core to see all the destruction and he withdrew, taking a position monitoring a city for two years. Things settled for him, until he's assigned to take a new transfer and investigates a missing person's case that brings the battle to him once again.
