Another summer in Alcester's East End, and another spate of all-too common crimes. Detective Timothy Hudson's dayshift team is working better than ever before, with Detective Andrew Mackenzie sober and focused, Detective Dexter Willis-Green as dapper and capable as ever, and rookie Detective Bethany Shakes shaping up nicely almost despite the advice flying at her from Mackenzie. But even with Mackenzie's improvements, the East End remains the most crime-ridden part of Alcester, and manpower problems abound. As Mackenzie faces up to more of his past, the present comes calling with a challenge that puts Tim's team to a new test.
