Nickel City Crossfire

Development of Buffalo's downtown Medical Corridor continues to gentrify the low-income Fruit Belt community. Still recovering from a gunshot wound, Gideon Rimes is hired by Fruit Belters Walter and Mona Simpkins to find their daughter Keisha, a church secretary and Doctor of Nursing Practice, missing after surviving a heroin over dose. But others looking for her are willing to kill, and Rimes realizes the case is more complex than first-time drug use. His search for the truth leads him through the city's underbelly of homelessness and mental illness to two charities, two churches, and drug traffickers who decide Rimes and Keisha must both die.
