21 year old Nyx Harlington is what her family likes to call a supernatural mix. Everyone else in her family is either a phoenix or a werewolf, but she is something entirely different. She is the only one this has ever happened to, so she must be careful not to get close to anyone. When she starts realizing how much this affects her parents and siblings, she decides that they will be better off without her in their lives. She packs a bag, writes some letters, and says goodbye to the only home she's ever known. But on the path of finding somewhere where she won't hurt anyone anymore, she meets Everett Phillips aka Scar.
