Murderous Descent

When Susan Reed, the third wife of Dylan Reed, the popular TV star of the cult science-fiction series Space Avengers, is found dead in her Spring Lake, New Jersey, swimming pool, elementary schoolteacher Jamie Hamilton is the only one who suspects foul play. However, the tide soon turns against the actor who portrayed the infamous Captain Travis Keating when one of his bitter co-stars, David Montgomery, appears in an interview accusing Dylan Reed of murdering his wife as well as the up-and-coming actor who was to take over the helm in the new fall Avenger series. At first convinced of Reed's guilt, Jamie's tune changes slightly when her husband, Michael, is retained to defend his adolescent hero. She puts aside her doubts of innocence to embark on a quest to help Michael clear his high-profile client. As she delves into the lives of the aging Avenger stars, Jamie discovers more than one skeleton along the way. Will she uncover the truth in time to save Reed, or will she become a victim?
