About This Book

Life changes dramatically for some of the residents in the small community of Much Binding-in-the-Marsh when sixty-four year old Miss Gladys Danceforth reads about a murder that has just taken place in the nearby town of Bay City. She is certain from the photo in the newspaper that she saw the killer as she was leaving the Busy Bee Notions shop in Wharton. As the victim is someone she is acquainted with, she is determined to get involved in finding the perpetrator. Miss Danceforth reports this to the local police and soon becomes involved in an unofficial capacity. What ensues is a race across southeast Texas to track down a vicious killer who uses a bow and arrow as his modus operandi and leaves behind a cryptic rhyme at each site that describes his next crime. Historic details, eclectic recipes, and local characters all emerge as Miss Danceforth and her friends speed though the bucolic landscape of springtime Texas, hot on the trail of a serial killer.
