CENTREHOPE - The calm before the stormSheriff Christian Ballard takes the same route every morning and night. On his way to the station, he travels down the back roads, past a stretch of brick homes and a mom and pop gas station, where he stops at the same time to wait for the flashing signal of the freight train. There, he waves at the good citizens of Centrehope, a sleepy town where nothing exciting ever happens.UNTIL TODAYA call from dispatch changes life as he knows it. Suddenly, small-town living just became engulfed in big-city problems. In a blink of an eye, Centrehope has shifted on its axis. For better or worse, it remains to be seen, but the beautiful scenery that Christian has admired since making the cozy hamlet his home has suddenly and unexpectedly turned blood red.
