Alex Parker was a highly successful thirty-seven-year-old stock broker/financial advisor who had his office on the top floor of the BB&T Bank Building in downtown Knoxville, Tennessee, the same floor as corporate attorney Brad Adams. Alex was a robust two-hundred-pound, six-foot-two man with a full head of hair. He was married to his beloved wife, Amanda, who at thirty-five was two years younger than him. They hade a beautiful five-year-old daughter, Trisha, who was the joy of their lives. Life could not have been better for Alex until Amanda was killed by a drunk driver on Friday the thirteenth as she was driving to meet him at Regas Restaurant uptown to celebrate their tenth wedding anniversary. To add insult to injury, two months later, his daughter Trisha was abducted from her school playground; Alex's world then completely fell apart. Not knowing what to do, he borrowed top notch detective Ace Sleuth from Brad Adams to try to find Trisha. Brad agreed to let Ace work for Alex as long as he needed him.
