About This Book

Mirage
by Amelia Gabriel
Mirage is about immortal healers. They are not monsters, vampires, or demons. They do not harm people; they heal them in the most amazing way. They travel the world to help in disaster areas.

Angelica's family members are all truly beautiful. Angelica is a very powerful healer; she can bring humans back from the brink of death, but certain things are not allowed. There is, after all, a higher power.

You could also call them "guardians of the world"; they don't grow old. They age rather quickly until they turn twenty and then they stay twenty forever. How wonderful! They have the power to give immortality to the person they fall in love with; however, they will not have any healing powers. The healing power is a gift that only the women in the family have.

Angelica falls in love with Luc and it's a turbulent, almost impossible, love. Her gift is very powerful and beautiful. She can see things that no one can. She has magical friends from the magical, mysterious world.

About the Author

Amelia came to Canada when she was eleven years old to live with her father, stepmother, and two brothers. She got married when she was still a teenager to a wonderful, supportive man, to whom she's still married. She has two wonderful children: a handsome son and a beautiful daughter.

Reading and writing romantic novels is a passion of hers. She also loves to watch romantic movies.

What made me write Mirage?

In 2006 my son Kenny was diagnosed with Lymphoma non-Hodgkin's disease. Today he's a happy, healthy young man, thank God.

That was my turning point. I felt this yearn to write. I felt drawn to put my fantasy story that was escalading in my head into words. For years I had this incredible story in my head, which kept on growing and growing. So I gave in and started to write it and once I started, I couldn't put it down. It was my form of therapy, an escape route. At times I cried in pain and at others. I smiled and dreamed. Even though life had thrown me a curve ball, I was able to catch it before it hit the ground. This story kept me sane at a very difficult time in my life.

My fantasy story kept on growing in my head. Now I have two books instead of one, because this story just wanted to keep going. It was like it had a mind of its own. The second book I named Magical Secrets. It's the continuation of Mirage. I hope you all enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it.
