Midnight Convoy & Other Stories is the only available collection of Yizhar's shorter fiction. He was and still is commonly regarded as both the founding father of Israeli literature and its chief master of prose fiction, writes Professsor Dan Miron in his introduction. The collection presents a truly representative collection of his work, dating back to his first published works, including his first published story, Ephraim Goes Back to Alfalfa (1938) in the periodical, Gilionot. Other works include Midnight Convoy, Habakuk, The Runaway, Harlamov.
