The good news is Ruby and Nolan will never drown! The bad news is they are Merpeople forever! Nolan thinks it is great. It's only a couple of small scars on their necks! Ruby is not so thrilled! She promises a beat-down if Nolan laughs once. Their parents are afraid they will not be accepted as humans if the whole family is sent home to Old Earth.Do not worry; the dragons, the others, and the Merpeople are like humans and probably won't make them leave, but do they want to leave their whole family and maybe never see them again?Mr. Hendricks returns with two new people! When Hendricks receives and presents his counter-proposal, the sparks fly between the two groups.The youngsters ignore the sparks and create a few sparks of their own! With borrowed cars and equipment, they plan to explore the continent from home across the ocean. While the adults are duking it out, they escape and set up the first camp on the continent, planning to explore in hopes of meeting new people and discovering what their parents don't want them to see!
