Sandwich, Massachusetts, is a quiet Cape Cod town where nothing much happens. That is until Johnnie Morgan's home is vandalized. It becomes obvious no one really knows him. Gwenyth Hibbett, an artist and amateur sleuth, discovers Morgan's house as she finds herself snooping into trouble again. Not only is Johnnie's home trashed, but it's spray painted with graffiti as well. Morgan himself is missing. The fact that he has been causing major problems in the Forest Trail subdivision doesn't help matters. Johnnie was holding up a major community buyout. The Hassell & Price real estate company may not be what they seem. What are their motives for buying up land? Or could someone else benefit from Morgan's disappearance? Gwenyth is bound and determined to find her neighbor. Will it place her in danger? Finding Johnnie and keeping her marriage afloat become difficult. All the while, she discovers her own past isn't settled.
