YA Rated - Young adult?
This is the first book in the Prophecy of the Flame series. Although classified as Fantasy, it has a dash of romance with a contemporary slant. The romance is intertwined with the fantasy, so neither is overwhelming. Many teen readers have been drawn to this book, though it was never intended for a teen & young adult audience.
The original author's edition was edited so that the romance is now more suspenseful than steamy. It still pushes the boundaries of what may be considered appropriate for a teen audience, but my conscious is soothed by changes.
