Love and Larceny

Ailo Khalid, the beautiful 19-year-old daughter of a high Egyptian official, has come to America to study medicine and to escape the turmoil in Cairo. Her father has promised not to assign security agents to watch over her while she is staying with the Sandfords in Maine and on campus at Harvard University. Has Husayn Mansur, an acquaintance from the University of Alexandria, come from Cairo for a social visit or does he represent an extremist faction of the Islamist Brotherhood as her mother and Egyptian authorities suspect? Ailo scoffs at their warnings. Her fear is that Paul Sandford, the 26-year-old son of her host, will think that the suave, handsome Husayn is her lover.
