Legends: The Beginnings

Imagine what it would be like if a Celtic warrior, born three thousand years ago, found himself facing life in modern Ireland. Ferdia, the son of CAchulainn, finds himself growing up in twenty-first-century Ireland. Adopted by a childless couple in County Louth, where his birth father roamed three thousand years earlier, the boy, now called Brian, is blessed with physical skills and abilities, but the days of "reddening one's sword" have long since passed. Fortunately for Brian, sportâ€"particularly soccer and hurlingâ€"provide an accepted outlet for his abilities. This book is the story of Brian's growth and development, meeting the challenges in a world totally alien from that for which he was born and bred.
