In the troubled war zone that is life in the 90s, heroes come in many guises; so meet John, a puppeteer with talent who also happens to have AIDS.
When his illness is discovered, John is ungraciously deported from China. Back in London, his sister Claire rounds up the troops - John's ex-lover Paul, and his buddies Mark, Babur and Keith - to help get John through what could he his last months. Will the guys get John to Disneyland? Will they realise he'd rather visit Tibet? Why, when he still loves Paul, does John confide best in Andy the Mouse, his star puppet?
