Lag

She only had half an hour for lunch, and it was bitterly cold outside. Forgetting the risks, she walked briskly down to the 54th street intersection but half way across she was hit by lag, and stopped dead in her tracks like all those around her. Even though she loved her government, the lag annoyed her,surely they could fix it. A fast paced sci-fi short story about a future world, with an unexpected ending. It is a world where everything is not as it seems.
