Lady Cat

Lornay is a very unusual cat who adopts the young man Chandor, a college student who lives alone, so he is happy for her company. The two of them become happily paired. Chandor finds that Lornay likes to eat her meals with him at the table, can read, and plays backgammon and checkers. Chandor's college is an academy of magic, and through improvements in his knowledge and with help from his professor, he learns that Lornay is actually beautiful young woman who was enchanted by a vengeful suitor whom her mother had rejected, and he invariably vented his wrath on Lornay by turning her into a cat. And that suitor is one of Chandor's professors. Professor Merton who is also Chandor's friend as well as a professor of magic, eventually helps him to liberate Lornay from the spell.
