Has Adams County been harboring a serial killer?That's the question Larry Macklin must answer as he investigates the apparent suicide of one of the nicest people in town... who just happens to have a box full of murder victims' possessions. The FBI has been tracking this killer for years and they descend on Adams County, eager to finally have a resolution to their case. But something in his gut tells Larry that the answer isn't so simple.At the same time, he's faced with another attack by reporter Tina Knightly, who's being fed information about the sheriff's office from a disgruntled ex-deputy, Karter Greer. Once Larry's well-meaning but slightly insane in-laws get wind of Knightly's latest barrage and mount their own counter-offensive, he wonders how much more complicated his life is going to get. The answer is very, as more bodies turn up. Larry's search for the truth leads to a violent showdown at the annual Labor Day picnic.
