Kidnappers' Moon

When Paul awakes, he finds his world reduced to a small circle defined by the sweep of a chain tethering him to an eyebolt. Boredom turns to horror when he learns that he will not be alive to celebrate his eleventh birthday party, whether or not the ransom is paid.
