About This Book

Janie Golden has been counting on a great summer riding a new ten-speed bike with her best friend, Lisa. But when her mom loses her job, her dad says, "No new bike." Janie couldn't be more disappointed, until she gets a brilliant idea. "I'll earn the money myself," she says. And that's how Kid Power begins.

No job is too big or too small, Janie decides, and puts up a sign in the supermarket. The calls come in fast and furious for jobs as a dog walker, babysitter, feeder, gardener—so many that Janie can hardly handle them all. Kid Power is a huge success, and Janie counts her money every night. Until she realizes that she's been so busy making money Lisa may never be friends with her again!
