Years later news arrives that his older brother, Atrum, the ruler of the Shoutte clan has been murdered. Now the newly ordained cleric has no choice but to return and assume the royal mantel of Shoutte of Shoutte. But Erique doesn't do so alone, as the redheaded Arinna Cabal, the daughter of his sage teacher, volunteers to accompany him. What awaits them is mystery, bloodshed and treachery as the prodigal prince will discover all of the highland clans are threatened by a mysterious foe capable of using dark magic against them.
