Seventeen-year-old Esme is about out to find out when her guardian grandmother dies and leaves her an antique vase. Forced to move in with a father she hardly knows, she rubs it for good luck. Out pops a bowler-hatted genie! Jin guarantees he’ll grant whatever wishes she needs to make her happy. Esme falls for Jin just as her dad finally seems to care about her. Meanwhile, Jin’s former master, a diabolical Victorian magician, sends a message through the vaseâ€"he wants his genie back.
