Richard Dalziel is in Lahore, full of regret and shame for past deeds, and willing to expunge his guilt by involving himself in the domestic affairs of a local boy. But when talk turns to vampires, Dalziel wonders if he's ready to bargain with what really lies ahead.This story appears in the collection 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘋𝘢𝘭𝘻𝘪𝘦𝘭 𝘍𝘪𝘭𝘦𝘴, and was originally published in the anthology 𝘉𝘦𝘵𝘸𝘦𝘦𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘛𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘬𝘴 by Things in the Well press, and won the Paul Haines Award for Long Fiction in the 2017 Australian Shadows Awards.
