Interminables #2

The year is 2020. Edmund Templeton, a time-stealing wizard, and Istvan Czernin, an avatar of WWI, are the most powerful agents of the magical cabal that now governs the US east coast.

They've been assigned to create a new branch of the cabal, but are having problems with location and repeated interference from a powerful fortress-state. When they're sent to deal with a storm that threatens to destroy their headquarters, they find that it's actually a person: one controlled by an old enemy. They determine that she can't be the only one, and set out to hunt down the "secret army" that must be hidden away.

Dogged by their responsibilities and increasing pressure from the fortress, they do find it—only for Edmund to fall under its sway, and set out to wreak havoc across the coast. Only Istvan, backed by squabbling allies, can stop him.
