About This Book

They wait for me to wake up so they can scare me. They know I shouldn't be able to see them. But they know I do see them. They hiss all the more angrily when they catch my eye. More accurately, they attack the Seraph who stands between us who kills them with his Terrible. Her name is Jane. Plain Jane, a seventeen-year-old ward of the Michigan foster care system. But the beings in the unseen world around her know her by another name: Seer. And what she sees is war — a perpetual, titanic battle in which holy ground and human souls are at stake. Now, as a whirlwind of natural forces and hellish fury descends on the rural town of Wayland, Jane finds herself thrust to the forefront of a clash with spiritual foes bent on destroying her foster family's small church from without and within. She is about to discover that her name is known to both angelic "brighters" and demonic "darkers." And as sword clashes with sword, she must survive to declare with authority another name far greater than her own—the one Name that can destroy the works of darkness and set a captive church free. Douglas K. Pearson, Michigan native and journeyman, currently winters west of Rockford, Michigan, with his bride of 19 years and their three kids.
