Carter weaved through people in a clever snakelike whip. It was insane the number of yellow eyes he'd already spotted. Even crazier was the fact that none of the humans waiting in anticipation for the fireworks had died yet. It really did seem as if Breed's battle royale was bound to an unwritten honor code of punctuality. He fingered the two semi-automatic weapons at his hips. He'd brought spare ammo in a quick sling over backpack that rested against his lower back. Also hidden were three bowie knives, two UV grenades and a shiny revolver. The signal was the explosion of the first fireworks. As Carter heard the small boom of the fireworks jettisoning from the machine located somewhere remotely far from their location, he held his breath.
