Los Angeles lawyer Henry Rios has misgivings about defending a known child molester accused of killing a porn peddler, even though the evidence against him is circumstantial at best.

Rios would also have to leave his lover, Josh--who was recently diagnosed HIV-positive--to return to his hometown of Los Robles, where public opinion weighs heavily against his potential client. Healthy and quite capable of taking care of himself, Josh insists Henry accept the case.

But research into the dead man's past sheds a frightening light on the murky circumstances of the murder -- bringing Rios face-to-face with a cold-blooded killer....
