About This Book
Harry Cain spent 4 years on death row waiting to be executed for a murder he didn't commit. An enterprising attorney finally won Harry his freedom, but by then the poor guy was mentally disturbed. Unable to hold a job, Harry, an ex-marine, went to the VA for help. The VA doctors labeled him a schizoid , gave him a prescription for dopamine, and then sent him on his way. Five years later Harry is a street savvy bum, pushing a grocery basket, collecting cans, without hope that his life will ever change for the better, and then he meets Carmen. Carmen is also street savvy. She should be; she walks the streets daily, looking for willing Johns. Like Harry, Carman is also without hope, and her only pleasure comes from dreams of suicide. They join forces and decide to roll the dice one last time; commit a crime and become wealthy or die trying. Harry provides the planning, and Carmen provides motivation. Harry comes up with a scheme that is amazingly simple and apparently fool proof; a crime that will harm no one, not even the victim. His only oversight is a man named Terreman.
