About This Book

In the year 2027 Maria, who grew up as a rebel and who recently has inherited her parents' business, has been forced into exile. She establishes the new political environmental organization G, Guardians of Gaia. Maria has a dedication and willpower that guides her in the struggle against the global warming. But there's also an ongoing conflict with her brother, and her sometimes insuperable engagement causes heart-rending catastrophes in her own personal life. In another part of the world, in the rainforests of Borneo, Atash fights for his own survival. Here he finds his mission in life that nothing can make him abandon. Disillusioned by personal tragedies, but simultaneously driven by a superhuman passion, he starts a project, which will put him and Maria on a collision course in a future where everything is at stake. This is a broad futuristic thriller, which is set in the near future. It spans more than 25 years, from a destitute Cuba and a blossoming Sweden in the 2010's, to the Arctic and the USA in the end of the 2030's. The main themes are social differences, the changing global climate, eco-terrorism and the futile struggle to save the environment and alter the society. In this novel the global warming has become a reality, the antagonism between the Western world and the Muslim society has increased further, and there are several hard decisions that have to be made. This extreme time sees the birth of powerful leaders, which are prepared to take exceptional measurements and make great sacrifices to achieve changes."
