Elissa, first of the dragonmerger triads to return to Gaia, is off to a perilous start when she collides with a magical barrier that nearly kills her. The emperor has set up traps, with the hope that the crystal heart bearers and their dragon/djinn companions will die in the attempt. Tasked with destroying this same barrier, Elissa must solve the clues provided as a parting gift, and bring down the barrier or all hope of challenging the emperor will be lost.
