"Any new threats against you?" Pamela seemed eager for my answer while I tsked at her.

Tensions are high as a pending election pits incumbent mayor Olivia Walker against Patterson lackey Geoffrey Jenkins, threatening Crew's job as sheriff and his place in Reading.
