Nearing the finish line on her doctoral thesis, Harvard grad student Dulcie Schwartz is feeling a little crazy from the pressure. Immersed in a gothic mystery set deep in historic Britain, she's equally obsessed with the present day suicide of a professor and the case of a missing female student.

Upon realizing that she was the last person to see the student before she disappeared, Dulcie's guilt pushes her to look for clues. But when a professor's fatal plunge from a window turns out to be murder, Dulcie suspects the missing girl and another student she's been advising may both be involved. With the ghost of her beloved feline, Mr. Grey, offering cryptic advice, things quickly go from dramatic to dangerous. Dulcie soon uncovers the shocking motive for murder…but is she about to become the next victim?
