The time is now. Erann is home and Sereh is cured from her strange illness but their joy is short lived as unexpectedly meeting on Vatna Jokull, the Librarian and Emma break the terms of the long ago ‘Agreement' thrusting Emma into her past, and the Librarian into a strange, trancelike state. Erann and Sereh must use the clues left by the Librarian and discovered by Greeneyes to return them to their former selves. But, when the answer seems to involve Rankil, will either of them be able to out aside their hatred of the man for the good of people they little like and who, the more they uncover about the past, the greater their involvement in the present becomes clear?
