The members of the Glasswrights' Guild have labeled Rani Trader a traitor because she was instrumental in their downfall and banishment to Brianta. So she never expects to receive a summons from them to demonstrate the skills she has gained in order to test for the rank of master.

Long has Rani yearned for such an honor--and for the guild to make amends for past mistakes and former misunderstandings. But soon she will learn that not all is as it seems in Brianta.
