Gideon's Art

As England's largest repository of art treasures, the National Gallery was one of London's most heavily guarded institutions. So when the museum reported that Velazquez's priceless painting "The Prince" had been stolen, Commander George Gideon of Scotland Yard knew there were only a few thieves at large artful enough to design such a caper.

But one by one the obvious suspects turned up dead, and Gideon got the uneasy feeling he had more on his hands than a missing national treasure.
