Divorced mom Candyce "Dyce" Dare, sole employee and owner of the furniture refinishing business she calls Daring Finds, is absolutely giddy about her latest project: giving an antique (and potentially very valuable) piano a facelift. But then Dyce finds something inside the piano—an old letter from a woman who's been missing for decades.

Dyce, being Dyce, can't help but engage in a little amateur investigating despite the protests of her still-new boyfriend, local cop Cas Wolfe.

But the more questions she asks, the more complicated things become. Everything starts to rapidly spin out of control, and Dyce finds herself at odds with a very rich and very powerful local family. They most definitely do not want old scandals rehashed—and one of them may be ready to resort to murder to stop her...
