About This Book

Freedom For Celestria is a romantic epic in the tradition of The Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter and Star Wars. It draws from such Shakespearean classics such as Pericles, The Winter's Tale, Cymbeline, and The Tempest as well as from the 80s Cartoon She-ra. It also draws from the Kabbalah and Canaanite mythology. Elora is the hero of this modern myth. She and her twin brother Ean are the heirs to the throne of the planet Celestria. Elora was kidnapped by the Hive commander Draco as a baby and raised by him as Imogen in his fortress and factory known as the Machine. Ean finds her and together they join the rebellion. Elora is strong, smart and compassionate. She is the very embodiment of the goddess Asherah, who guides her in her quest to drive the evil Hive from Celestria, through the use of her magic sword. Although it is packed with action and adventure, at the heart of the story are the themes of family, friendship, faith and feminism. The story is very much a metaphor for the fight for our own planet.
