About This Book

Tres Rios, Texas was a small town that would be hard to even place on a map. Located in the Rio Grande Valley in-between San Antonio and Corpus Christi, it was a tight-knit community of ranchers who had family lines that stretched back to the days of the Alamo. All that changed one day when a local rancher discovered oil on his land. The multinational energy conglomerate Triburton quickly swooped in. As rig after rig went up and the company’s tentacles took deeper root, Triburton’s hydraulic fracking operation poisoned the town’s delicate ecosystem and drove away entire generations of families. John and Rebecca, a couple caught in the middle of the town’s rapid decay, find themselves forced by cruel circumstances to work for the very company that destroyed their hometown and forced them to give up their old way of life. Together they dream about the day they can move away and start a new life together far away from Tres Rios. However, after an industrial fracking accident unleashes a horrific plague deep from the depths of the Eagle Ford Shale, the couple is forced to put their dreams on hold as they embark on a desperate fight for survival. Not only do they have to survive the dangerous onslaught of the ravenous infected, but they also have to contend with the extreme measures that Triburton undertakes in the company’s desperate attempt to cover up the horrific truth from the world: there’s more than just oil hidden underneath the ground in Tres Rios.
