At first, "Jason"--the wolf in cheap clothing who strikes up a conversation with campus cop Peggy O'Neill outside the university's School of Veterinary Medicine--seems harmless enough. But when his questions get uncomfortably personal, she sends him on his way--never realizing that Jason's bite may be far worse than his bark.

A young vet is brutally murdered. And not only is Peggy sure creepy Jason is responsible, she's certain her own death is his next pet project. But to trap the elusive animal, and end his harrowing cat-and-mouse game, doggedly determined Peggy is going to have to use herself as bait.
