Self-made millionaire Alvie Weather is terrified. His wife Mallory has been kidnapped and he needs help but has been warned against notifying the police. In desperation, he calls his childhood friend, Stella Conroy, a private investigator. When Stella and fellow PI Cash Delaney agree to help him find his wife, trouble follows. As Cash and Stella devise a plan, allying themselves with trusted colleagues Sarah Ehrenson, Jefferson Davis, and Cooper Grey, a runaway boy shows up in their midst.
