About This Book

Kate, a young wife, moved to a remote mountain with her new husband Jeffry Cable. How was she to know that she would become critically ill and that she would learn to doubt her husband? As time goes on, she is concerned about reports of UFOs in the area, the escape of her mother's rapist from prison, and her dead mother-in-law's reports of life during her time on the mountain, as gleaned from Jessica Cable's journal. Left without a phone or a car, Kate is trapped with her memories and fears, and yet she struggles to be a good wife, loving and supportive of a husband she is beginning to suspect she doesn't really love. The final crisis occurs when her visiting mother, Wendy, disappears from Kate's house one night without explanation. In spite of her illness, Kate gathers all her strength to solve this mystery and find out what has happened to the mother she adores.
