Falconburg Divided

Set in a fantasy, parallel Europe, the new religion has almost supplanted magic, and driven the magical into near extinction with its new superstitions. But out on the marchlands, some embrace the way of the Christ, some ignore it, and some reject it. Lord Gyrfalon has rejected what he sees as a weak, prating religion, choosing to be equated with the devil for his revenge on society. When he seizes as a hostage the beautiful daughter of a neighbouring lord, the forces of light, led by Gyrfalon's half brother, fear for her safety. Annis, however, finds her life as a hostage improved over her circumstances at home, and turns her healing and magic towards healing Gyrfalon's cursed wound. The question remains whether she will have enough power to heal his heart and soul as well.
