About This Book

Michael Branda, a movie megastar who appears to have everything, suddenly finds himself facing a real life peril far worse than any he has experienced on the screen. His ordeal begins with a seemingly innocent but deadly accident on the set that quickly forces him to fight for his life and for that of his family.

The suspects are many, including even Gloria, Michael’s former wife and mother of his nine-year-old daughter, Tammy. When the authorities flounder in their attempts to track down the stalker or stalkers trying to kill him, Michael quickly realizes he is on his own. He hesitantly accepts help from Gloria and learns he must reach deep into the past for vital answers. As clues evolve, so does jeopardy for the entire Branda family, including Michael’s aging mother, Anna.

Michael’s pursuit begins and ends in the Hollywood he both loves and hates. It encompasses a variety of characters and locations, including Northern California’s bucolic Angel Island, the treacherous canals of Venice, Italy, the ancient, mysterious city of Baku, the murky Caspian Sea and massive oil rigs off Azerbaijan and California. It climaxes back in Hollywood with a nightmarish confrontation that involves Tammy, the enemy and a movie set built for Michael’s upcoming movie.

As Michael is forced to take on his screen persona in real life, he must also deal with the hypocrisies of a business that made him and his family too rich and too famous. His journey includes more than action. It requires him, once and for all, to examine his own heart and to determine what he truly values in life.
