It's Detroit, 1950s: the age of Sputnik, Joe McCarthy, and fast money. Connie Minor is a washed-up newspaper man who is about to get a second shot. His ticket: sell America Henry Ford's new dream car, the Edsel. Unfortunately for Connie, everybody in Detroit wants a piece of the dream, from mobsters to pro wrestlers, from Walter Reuther to a red-baiting politico. Trying to find out who is trying to sabotage Ford's secret project, and who wants Walter Reuther dead, Connie skids into the motor city underworld, where cars--and sharks--have fins, and selling an Edsel is easier than staying alive...
