Eastern Ghosts is the last volume of the American Ghost Series that covers the regions of the United States state-by-state. The others are Dixie Ghosts, Western Ghosts, Ghosts of the Heartland, and New England Ghosts, New York New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland and the District of Columbia comprise the Eastern, or Mid-Atlantic, region. Though this region lacks the unified identity of New, England, Dixie, The Heartland, or the West, it is the most urban region of the Unite States, the cultural and financial center of the world, and the nerve center of our government. It has great geographical importance, much industrial development, and immense historical importance, as G.J. A. O'toole's story "Turn Down for Richmond," reminds us.
