Theres terror prophesized for the land, and three hundred years before it appears, Elder Druids put into motion a summoning of The One to aid them. Even so, they may have waited far too late. Coln, an inspired and talented Druid, calls upon the Goddess to provide him with guidance in putting down the scourge that threatens to bring down the entire Druid religion from Anglesey to Avalona druid who practices human sacrifice. In order to complete his quest, however, he must be rejoined with a woman from a life he had yet to live, the female Bard, Maeve. With the aid of the Archdruids, Rale and Took, The One joins them in Ireland under most unusual circumstances and they scour the land in search Gradh, a druid of great power, more apt to wield a knife than magic. With Anglesey and Avalon under siege by Gradhs forces, there is little left their friends can do, but pray to the Goddess that Coln and Maeve will be successful in their quest. At the gates of the ancient stone circle, the conflict climaxes when at last Coln and Maeve come face-to-face with Gradh. Can love for one another and dedication to their unseen Goddess aid them as sworn enemies collide at the most sacred of places?
